The reservation process is as follows.
- Confirm the dates: send us an email message with the dates
you want so we can confirm that your dates are still available.
(You will help us a lot if you indicate in your message where
you heard about Villa Esmeralda.)
- Within 7 days of booking make a $300. cleaning deposit
to hold your reservation. This will be refunded to you
after your stay.
Consider using PayPal, as explained below, to make your deposit and reservation payments. Other payment methods are available incluiding wire transfer and ACH transfer. If you are near a Wells Fargo Bank in the U.S. or have a bank account in Costa Rica direct desposit is also available. If you choose not to use PayPal refer to our list of payment options, and contact us for details.
- Complete the rental contract available below.
We prefer you use our electronic signature process. Otherwise, if you are able to scan the signed contract on a computer, please transmit it to our email address. Otherwise, you will need to return the signed contract via post office mail to the address below. Your reservation will not be confirmed until we receive your signed contract.
- At least 60 days prior to your visit make sure to
complete the advance 50% payment.
- At least 14 days prior to your visit make sure to
complete the final payment for your stay. Your reservation
will not be confirmed until your payment has cleared.
- We will return your cleaning/damage deposit within 14 days after your visit is complete, less any necessary deductions.

Rental Contract
Please review, sign and return our rental contract as soon as possible. We must have this form signed to confirm your reservation. Altered contracts will not be accepted. Thank you! Updated 20-June-2009 regarding cancellations and maximum occupancy.

It is quick, easy and secure to make payments via the PayPal Web site, even if you have never used this before. Millions of people use this Web site to pay for purchases on eBay every month/year. If PayPal is trusted by eBay, that's good enough for us.
- If you do not already have a PayPal account you will
have the option to create one, but it's not required.
- That's it. However, if you have a PayPal account,
you will want to ensure that your account is
"verified". Otherwise, in the future, you may encounter
a spending limit when making subsequent payments.

As of 20-March-2008 Costa Rica's phone company has added one extra digit to all telephone numbers. All cell phone numbers have a leading 8, and all land line numbers have a leading 2. (This extra number is added after the country code and before the location prefix.) Please make a note of this change.
Note that cell phone service in Costa Rica occasionally can experience problems. It is even possible that voice messages may not get delivered. If you can't reach us, keep trying or send us email. When calling from within Costa Rica, don't dial the "+506" part.
